Brazil Commercial Vehicle Summit

Brazil is a continent on its own.It has the fourth largest automotive market in the world and is the 7th largest producer of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and agricultural machines. The sector is responsible for 25% of the manufacturing GDP and 5% of the total GDP in Brazil. Over 60% of all freight is transported by trucks, who supply more than 5500 municipalities.

To continue on the road of progress, ANFAVEA has proposed a National Fleet Renewal Program for Trucks which aims at replacing 30 000 vehicles per year over the next ten years.
In total, OEMs have announced an investment of R$ 75.8 bn between 2013 and 2017 in the automotive market and an average market growth of 3 to 5% is expected in the coming years.

This has significant opportunities also for the commercial vehicle aftermarket where figures up to R$ 19.3 million are being mentioned. Other programmes proposed to the government are Inovar-Technology, to research new powertrains and turn Brazil into a hub for R&D, and a program to increase local production of agricultural machines. Other initiatives such as ‘Road to School’ and an increase of the tourism charter market are supporting an expansion of the bus sector as well.

At the Brazil Commercial Vehicle Summit, senior officials and presidents from government bodies and industry associations along with top-level executives, technical directors and project leaders from major logistic companies, commercial vehicle manufacturers and parts manufacturers will be invited to discuss new development trends and policies, core R&D and manufacturing technologies as well as the end user’s demands and green freight solutions.
