Latin America continues to grow as a destination for mining investment, exploration and development, on the back of its highly prospective geology, reduced cost profile and attractive mining environment. Investment opportunities are expected to increase, as producers focus on optimization and expansion projects in countries such as Perú, Chile and Colombia.Peruvian mining leads in Latin America in the production of gold, zinc, tin. Worldwide, it ranks second in silver production. Mining activity in Chile is expected to increase from previous years, with forecasted mining investments of more than $60 billion over the next decade.
Lately mining companies across the world are rapidly adopting the latest automation technology to modernize their operations. Some companies have seen productivity rise by 15-20 percent as they adopted new technologies [1] .
The Latin America Mining Technology and Innovation Summit will bring together local and international stakeholders, government officials, mining companies, mining engineers, geologists, consultants, investors and mining solution providers to discuss the current development and innovation trends in the sector.
