The Greater Bay Area is a pilot area for China’s reform policies. It is one of the regions with the highest degree of openness, the strongest economic vitality and the most densely populated permanent residents in China. The Greater Bay Area has a population of 70 million and a per capita GDP of about 160,000 yuan. However, it still faces the problems of unbalanced development of medical resources and the relative blank of differentiated supply side. The medical market demand is still not met, and there is huge space for development. At the same time, the need for the coordinated development of medical services in the Greater Bay Area has become increasingly prominent. The signing of a series of cooperation framework agreements, such as the Health Cooperation Framework Agreement in the Area, has laid a sound foundation for the coordinated development of medical services in the region. Meanwhile, the coordinated medical development of the area is also faced with institutional constraints, and it is necessary to explore a more open, comprehensive and systematic innovation path in the collaborative development.
