Strategically located in the most dynamic economies in Asia-Pacific region, and one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, the Philippines is the newest investment hotbed. Under President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s administration, the Build Build Build Program with DOTr` supervision, ODA and PPP have set a budget of P8 trillion for the next 6 years will cover 75 flagship projects that include 23 rail projects in the country and will extend the rail system from 77 Km to 1,750 Km. Project owners and operators are faced with multiple questions, from financing processes and concession agreements, to compliance and project procedure before construction, to design, railway viability and urban planning. Simultaneously an increased focus is addressing security and safety technologies and protocols, system upgrades, maintenance supervision, supply guarantees and man power needs.
On January 31st- February 1st, 2019, Lnoppen is hosting The Philippine Railway Expansion and Technology Conference in Manila. The event will bring together local and international stakeholders, government officials, operators, developers, design and planning departments, consultants and equipment plus solution providers to discuss the current rail sector and the multiple challenges to be tackled.
