6th Africa Hotel & Resort Expansion Summit

In the past few years, the world has rediscovered Africa as touristic destination, in the search for unique and thrilling experiences like knowing the local culture, learning about the continent's history or `experiencing` the wildlife and the breath-taking landscapes. Moreover, with 6 African countries within the 10 fastest growing countries in 2018, the momentum for the continent to bloom is reinforced.

Not only international tourists are interested in visiting the continent, within the Sub-Saharan region domestic travel spending is expected to rise yearly by 4.2%  to reach USD78.8bn in 2028.

In order to accommodate the huge number of expected visitors , 41 hospitality chains have already signed contracts to build new hotels all over the continent.

Opposite to the stagnation of the past years, Kenya's hospitality sector is on an upward trajectory, achieving an increase of 8,1% in international visitors in 2018, and yielding a prospected increase by 2,5% a year in the number of rooms for the next 5 years. 68 international chains are operational in the country.

Mombasa, due to its legacy as one of the biggest ports in Africa, is a cultural melting pot and an ideal place for business. Moreover the city offers incredible beaches which make the delight of resort investors and tourists. As a matter of fact, the city just expanded direct air routes to multiple destinations in order to draw closer the overseas travelers.

Mombasa offers great potential to grow new hospitality businesses and bring more resorts and hotels to its shore, resulting as well in pressure on the current properties to refurbish and renew their installations. Noppen’s 6th Annual Africa Hotel Expansion Summit will feature the most prominent industry leaders providing informative & inspiring discussions pertaining to the continent's current challenges and its ambitious future in the hospitality industry.

Global and local leading operators, developers, investors, construction companies, architects, financial institutes, associations, consultants & solution providers will be invited to discuss projects, future investment possibilities, international stakeholder involvements, design trends and technology updates.
