5th Annual SEA Auto Summit

South East Asia’s strong economic performance is likely to continue, driven by population growth, growing trade and investment activity and the increasing complexity and international engagement of the major economies of the region– Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Together these countries are known as the ASEAN 6.

In the automotive world, all eyes are on Asia, especially South East Asia. With major car makers hit by a global economic downturn, the Southeast Asian nation has emerged as a rare bright spot in recent years. The region is taking an increasing share of global vehicle sales, and is the only major market expected to see strong growth over the next few years. SEA also is displaying potential as a source of component sector, with multinationals and local companies alike jockeying to supply major vehicle manufacturers with lower cost components.

Lnoppen's 5th Annual SEA Auto summit gathers C-level executives from the most important global car OEMs who have expansion plans in South East Asia, along with representatives from government bodies, associations, research institutes, systems integrators, parts suppliers, international auto equipment and manufacturing solutions providers and consultants. It covers issues related to manufacturing, both established practices as well as new developments; issues relating to distribution, marketing and retail, vehicle technologies and regulatory trends; and, crucially, labor practices and the people who build cars. In all this it explains both how the current situation arose and also likely future trajectories both in terms of social and regulatory trends, as the technological, marketing and labor practice responses to those, leading in many cases to the development of new business models.
