Noppen in partnership with NASSCOM hosted the India Data Center Infratech Conference in Mumbai, on 27th - 28th September. The conference brought together, leading Data Center Technology Providers, Third Party Data Center Operators and some of the leading enterprises and banks to deliberate on the Data Center landscape, Issues and challenges and new data Center technologies.
Data centers, which initially made their major appearance in India in mid 1990s, have matured into core business enablers.
Ms. ShaheenMeeran, MD, Schnabel DC consultants, India welcomed the delegates to the conference and spoke briefly about the theme of the overall theme of the conference. Her presentation dealt with the global trends in the Data Center Market, the developments of the overall State Data Center strategy under the NeGP, and how these facilities were becoming truly state-of-the-art. She also spoke about the contribution of NASSCOM and its members in the India Data Center Industry. She ended her presentation with a note about how the Government of India is poised to be one of the largest vertical driving growth through implementations of State Data Centers. Currently there are 17 fully operational SDCs with 8 more under implementation.
