ISTANBUL – The Turkish shipbuilding industry experienced a rapid growth in exports during the first quarter of 2011.To further speed things up; the country is adopting a barter trade system to achieve the 2023 target of $10 billion in exports. With strong government support, the Turkish shipbuilding industry is looking to have a 20% increase in exports each year for the coming 10 years.
The first Turkey Shipbuilding Summit took place on the 24th and 25th of November in Istanbul, Turkey with over 80 attendees from various shipbuilding companies, associations and shipyards. They all came together to discuss the current trends, investment opportunities and new advanced technologies.
