In recent years, airports development in China has been driven by both policy and demand, four airport clusters have taken shape, the total number of civil transport airports will reach 270, the implementation of low-altitude economic policies has further released development momentum, and at the same time, the passenger transport volume is expected to exceed 770 million, which is giving rise to the demand for facility upgrades. In terms of development trends, the integration of intelligence and low-carbon have been highlighted: Airports build an intelligent operation system through technologies such as AI, digital twins, and 5G to enhance efficiency and services. Photovoltaic power supply and green energy-saving technologies are widely applied, practicing the concept of low-carbon development. However, the construction and development of airports in China still face some challenges, such as the high capital investment for expansion and operation, which brings pressure on cost control, tight airspace resources. Facing challenges, the civil aviation industry will continue to focus on and promote green and sustainable development in the future, innovate to improve service quality, optimize and enhance the passenger experience, and contribute to the full recovery and long-term prosperity of the economy.
