“The Latin America Earthquake Impact Mitigation Summit will be hosted on 25th & 26th of June 2019 in Santiago Chile. The country is among the important earthquake prone countries worldwide: 8,094 tremors were recorded in 2017, as per the National Seismological Center of the University of Chile. The country has one of the most rigorous anti-earthquake construction codes in Latin America, and is home to leading centers in structural engineering. Chilean engineers are pioneers in upgrading and innovating preventive technologies for disaster control.

In the continent it is one of the best prepared countries in earthquake impact mitigation and anti-seismic infrastructure. Chile allocates an annual average of 1.2% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to mitigate the effects of natural catastrophes, turning itself into one of the OECD countries that invests most resources in weighing the damages caused by natural disasters and mitigating them as per report of the "Commission for Resilience against Disasters of Natural Origin"1.

Latin America Earthquake Impact Mitigation Summit, government authorities, research centers, universities, engineers, investors, architects, engineering and construction companies, technology and equipment providers, will meet with the aim of knowing the new projects and initiatives that are being developed in Latin America, better understanding the anti-seismic construction codes, and learning more about new technologies available."
