South East Asia Mining Summit 2013

31 January–1 February 2013, Jakarta, Indonesia

Currently mining in South East Asia is expanding very rapidly. With India, China and South East Asia continually expanding, their countries need coal to power their expanding middle classes, copper to build telecommunications and iron to erect the skyscrapers. Gold, also mined in South East Asia is growing increasing interesting for international investors as the price has increased exponentially globally. Due to the limited amount of commodities available and the growing demands from China, India and South East Asia, mining will continue to thrive in the region.

The Southeast Asia Mining Summit 2013, hosted by LNoppen in association with ASPINDO hostedregulators, mining companies, global investors, financiers & strategic service providers to discuss regulatory policies, mineral prospective, investment partnerships, financing and investment opportunities across Southeast Asia.

Some of the prominent speakers that stood out during the two day summit were:

Mr. Jiri Stichaner, is the Chief Representative at INCO Engineering. He began by giving a brief overview of his company to the gathered delegates. His presentation included the production program of INCO, the various products they have in their catalogue and a detailed list of services that INCO can offer the mining industry.

Mr. Rudolf Gansl, Managing Director, FeluwaPumpen, GMBH; after the introduction of his company, he started by explaining the characteristics of centrifugal pumps and the dissimilarity between various kinds of pumps. He spoke of the advantages of double hose diaphragm pumps including Linear Flow paths without deviations, small and compact heads, high efficiency and high energy saving features. He ended his presentation by speaking about FELUWA Quadruplex High Pressure Hose Diaphragm Piston Pumps and an aerial view of the FELUWA facility

Dr. Gatut S. Adisoma, Deputy Chairman, International affairs, Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI – ICMA), spoke about the Current Regulatory Framework and its implementation. In his presentation, he detailed Coal mining development in Indonesia, new regulations & policies, challenges to long term coal production growth, regulatory risks, and comparative numbers across 93 countries concerning mining.

Mr. HukumDahiya, Vice President, Mining, PT Adani Global. He introduced the Bunyu mining team, the objectives behind its creation, the exploration, drilling plan, and significant milestones in the project. He also introduced the mining methods in use at the site, capabilities, the processing facilities, safety& health, and eco-care activities.

Mr. Robert V Belgica, the COO for PT Baramutiara Prima, spoke about the Future of Low Rank Coal. He introduced the delegates to the PT. Baramutiara Prima. His presentation also dealt with the opportunities for BMP coal, the future of low rank coal and ended his presentation by speaking about the advantages of Low rank coal, specifically BMP Coal.
