Argentina is investing over 20 Billion USD in the upgrades of 19 airports; Brazil raised 1.2 billion USD in its auction of four airports and is planning to privatize all 54 airports; at the same time Mexico is constructing one of the biggest airports in the world, Panama is expanding heavily the international airport of Tocumen and Colombia is planning a new international airport in its capital.  Airport construction, upgrade is going at a rapid pace in Latin America and lots of investments are planned for the coming years.

At the 4th Annual Latin America Airport Expansion Summit, government officials, investors, airport management groups and civil aviation authorities will go in discussion with consultants, architects, construction companies, equipment providers and service groups, in order to better explore the market and support the project development.

After a successful first edition of the Latin America Hotel & Resort Expansion Summit in Cartagena, Colombia in March 2017, Lnoppen will host its 2ndedition of the conference end of February 2018 in San José, Costa Rica. Costa Rica has proven to be one of the best countries in the region when it comes to investment opportunities, with a stable government pushing for tourism and hospitality investment.

Costa Rica recorded the strongest growth within Central America and according to the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, 11 new hotels with 696 rooms will have opened by end 2017, with an estimated investment of 149 million USD. In the coming years, big hotel chains such as Hilton, Hard Rock, Four Seasons have several more hotel openings and Latin America’s Premier Residential and Resort Destination, Papagayo Peninsula will undergo initial capital improvements as part of a major transformation worth 100 million USD.

Ofcourse, the Latin America Hotel & Resort Expansion Summit being a regional summit, attention will also be given to other well established and upcoming hospitality markets such as Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Argentina, among others.

The tourism industry continues to be one of the fastest-growing and most vibrant sectors of Africa’s economy. According to W Hospitality Pipeline Report 2017, Africa has 417 Hotels with 72,816 Rooms in the pipeline with Egypt, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Angola, Morocco, South Africa, Kenya, Algeria, Cape Verde and Tunisia being the Top 10 destinations by pipeline status.

On 10 & 11 May 2018, Lnoppen will hold its 2nd Latin America Rail Expansion Summit. Host venue will be São Paulo where Metro de São Paulo and CPTM have big plans for the metro and commuter rail network.

Elsewhere in Brazil, multiple light rail projects, metro upgrades and passenger rail networks are under construction. Together with Argentina, Brazil is taking the lead in rail infrastructure development.

Other countries are making a significant efforts to follow into their footsteps: Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Panama, … are planning new projects for metro, light rail, high speed rail, monorail and passenger trains, whereas Uruguay is focusing on the further development of its cargo rail network.

The 2nd Latin America Rail Expansion Summit will bring together local and international stakeholders, government officials, operators, developers, architects, consultants and equipment plus solution providers to discuss the current rail sector.
