Over the recent years, China’s Theme Park and Resort Industry has been growing at a fast pace and is more flexible to meet the demands and needs of the millions of visitors that contribute to this industry every year. Leaders of this industry are shifting to holistic approach wherein they go to any length to make a customer’s time memorable.

Keeping this in perspective, the 3rd Annual China Theme Park & Resort Expansion Summit was organized to bring together a congregation of high level professionals; all of whom represent government departments, industry associations, real estate developers, theme park operators and entertainment facility suppliers from all over the world. .

This Summit saw Mr. WANG Dehong, Deputy Director of Administration of Shanghai International Tourist and Resort Zone gave an excellent opening speech on Tourism and Theme Park Industry and highlighted the outlook of future development of the theme park in China. Mr. ZHOU Jiucai, Deputy Director of Laws and Regulation Department, National Tourism Administration presented on ‘Outlook for the Development and Policies of Theme Park and Resort Industry in China’ spoke on some of the government policies for China tourism industry as well as the current market situation from the China Tourism Academy. .

Mr. Andrew Bolstein, Vice President Operations of Shanghai Disney Resort- Authentically Disney and Distinctly Chinese, was one of the most important speakers where he introduced the situation of Shanghai Disney Resort project and characteristics of Disney culture. .

On second day, presentation by Mr. LI Ying, Chairman and General Manager of Shandong Luxin Investment Group, on ‘Luxin-An Ultimate Solution Provider for Theme Parks and Tourism Real-Estate Investments’ where he focussed on services especially on 3+3model of investment solutions including 3 core value-added services. .

Also, Mr. DING Wei, Senior Consultant of World Carnival Beijing Investment Co. Ltd. spoke on New Smart Entertainment Society: Theme Park and City Redesign. His theme was unique and gave a clear idea on means to develop the next generation theme park. It was followed by Mr. Charles Read, Managing Director of Blooloop and also the chairman of the summit. He spoke on the importance of Social Media for Attractions and stressed on the importance of communications and new mediums of communications and its effective use to reach out to the potential customers who play a vital role. .

Other noteworthy speaker was Mr. Crayon YAO, Creative Director of YAOX5D GROUP, was the dinner sponsor of the summit and gave a speech on ‘From Film to Cultural Real Estate-A Virtuous Circulation Mode of Theme Park Development’. Crayon listed the sample of the movie “Life of PI” and believes that every popular theme park is related to the movie industry and should be supported by some famous movies. .

Followed by this was Mr. Peter SMULDERS, CEO of Attractions International, who spoke on ‘Theme Park Design in a Developing Market’. He introduced the audience to the birth of modern theme parks and focussed on economic research analysis. During his presentation, he informed the audience on the importance of quality, emotions, branding, innovation, interactivity, imagination etc. .

The conference also gave a platform for some sponsors to show their latest products to all the delegates and to have in-depth discussions with the theme park operators and developers onsite. Conference’s official exhibitor was Club Car, exhibitor sponsor was Simtec Systems and attending specialist was GDM Group.
