China Commercial Security Congress

SHANGHAI, China, 04-05 March 2010-The Chinese government is taking considerable steps to increase safety and security investment in its major cities. The 2008 Olympic Games, World Expo in Shanghai, Asian Games in Guangzhou and their respective safe city projects have and will generate great demand in the safety and security market.

At the China Commercial Security Congress, over 80 major construction groups, engineering companies, top design institutes, and municipal project owners/operators across China came together to discuss the development of the most advanced integrated safety and security solutions in China. Held on the 4-5 March 2010 in Shanghai, China the congress provided an excellent platform for industry professionals and, as stated by Shanghai Baohua Group Ltd, "introduced new technological developments and timely concepts" .

Co-organizers of the event, Shanghai Architectural Society and Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co Ltd were represented by Gao Chengyong, Chief Engineer, Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co Ltd, who opened the conference and warmly welcomed the delegates. Key speakers at the event were Liu Xiqing, Former Secretary General, TC 100, who introduced fire and security technology development and the standardization of China's safety and security industry; and Wen Boyin, Chief Engineer, East China Architectural Design & Research Institute Co Ltd, also a drafter of the national standard, who gave an excellent speech on the standardization of Chinese Intelligent Building Design and Engineering.

Several new and innovative products were introduced at the congress. Shi Xugang, General Manager, OB Telecom, a sponsor of the event, presented their high and standard definition combined video surveillance system and Jing Xiao Feng, Director of Strategic Alliances, Security: Tyco China, introduced their latest technology on safety surveillance for the city environment. Highlights at the congress were the panel discussions on new technology applications in cabling systems and exploring potential business opportunities in China; and the case study by He Wei, Project Director, The Third Research Institute of Ministry of Public Security, on Shanghai's Subway Line 10 fire and security system design. Delegates, such as Shanghai Jingrui Properties Group Co Ltd, noted that the "program content and form was excellent; topics were professional and in-depth, adding to wide range of case application".

Other notable speakers included Zhao Jian, Vice Chief Engineer, Technology Center of Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co Ltd who spoke on both days of the event; Qu Erlan, Engineering Director, East China Architectural Design & Research Institute Co Ltd; and Wu Anqi, General Manager, Shanghai Changchen Electronic Devices Co Ltd. Topics discussed included green intelligent building technology, effective fire and security systems in modern architectures, building automation control systems and information technology engineering of intelligent building. China Kingwai Property Co Ltd said the congress had a "very good quality of service, and invited associated companies to make presentations" , this added to effective "communication platform" at the event, as noted by Hopson.
